1 Day, 6 Cruise Ships

6 cruise ships in Bergen; Queen Mary 2, Mein Schiff 1, Hamburg, Norwegian Jade, Silver Whisper & Crystal Symphony

Today was a particularly busy day in the port of Bergen, with no fewer than 6 cruise ships visiting the city simultaneously.

The complete list reads as follows: Queen Mary 2, Mein Schiff 1, Hamburg, Norwegian Jade, Silver Whisper and Crystal Symphony.

Placed end-to-end, these ships are around 1,5km long, and brought with them approximately 9,000 passengers. Fortunately for all it's been a fantastic sunny day, and visitors have been able to enjoy Bergen at its finest.

Speaking of which, I'm off to enjoy the evening sun myself. I'll be posting more photos and content from this bumper batch of cruise ship calls over the coming days...

Queen Mary 2 - Photo Tour and Voyage Report (Part 2)

The tour continues with the Britannia Restaurant. The main dining room on board, this is used by all passengers travelling in standard cabins, whilst the smaller Princess Grill and Queens Grill restaurants are reserved for those travelling in suites. The Britannia Restaurant really is an impressive room, with a large double-height central section surrounded by tall columns, and tiered upper levels joined by a sweeping staircase at the forward end of the room. The Britannia Restaurant The restaurant is open for a la carte breakfast and lunch with an open seating. For dinner, tables and dining times are assigned to guests in each stateroom, and remain unchanged throughout the crossing (though we were able to switch to a larger, more attractive table after speaking with the Maitre d' on the first afternoon). Sitting at a larger table provides a great opportunity to get to know your fellow diners during the trip. Dinner soon becomes the main event of the days on board.

MS Polarlys - Photo Tour

Take a look around the interiors and open decks of MS Polarlys with our full photo tour, These pictures were taken whilst she was alongside in Bergen, preparing for  the 11-day round trip she operates from the city along the coast of Norway.
