AIDAsol, AIDAluna & Costa Favolosa

Image
This morning I caught  Costa Favolosa and AIDAsol as they passed the Bergen-Askøy ferry on my commute to work. Both of these ships have featured on the blog over the past couple of weeks, so I won't say too much here. If you'd like to find out more you can take a look through our previous posts on Costa Favolosa and AIDAsol . Otherwise, just enjoy the photos! Also in town today was AIDAluna , and I got a few photos as I passed her on my way home. It's been a very wet couple of days in Bergen. Let's hope all of the cruise passengers had their rain jackets and umbrellas to hand...

A regular visitor to the port of Bergen, AIDAsol made another call yesterday; one of five ships in the city. This time I viewed her departure from the Askøy bridge, catching some dramatic views as she sailed underneath. You can find out more about the history of AIDAsol , including some facts and figures, in our previous post here .

You can read more about AIDAsol 's history (including some facts and figures) in our previous post here . Also in town were the classic cruise ship Marco Polo , and Hurtigruten's Midnatsol .

As the cruise ship season in Bergen is now over for the year I will be working through the archives and adding more photos and information from the ships I photographed before starting this blog in July this year. These photos of AIDAsol were taken during her visit on 31/05/2013. AIDAsol pulls away from her berth AIDAsol  has been a regular visitor to the port over the last two years. She is one of seven Sphinx-class ships operated by the Germany-based AIDA Cruises. AIDAsol departing Bergen, Norway Built in Meyer Werft in 2011, she entered service to meet the rapidly growing demand from the German speaking cruise market. Brightly painted hull motifs and a large glass section in the central superstructure make  AIDAsol  and her sisters instantly recognisable. AIDAsol makes her way into Byfjorden Following a sunny day in the city,  AIDAsol  pulled away from her berth at Bontelabo and made her way into Byfjorden to continue her cruise.
