A very elegant pair of sisters called into town today; Le Boreal & Le Soleal are two out of a class of four luxury cruise ships operated by the French-owned Compagnie du Ponant. These beautiful, yacht-like vessels have long been favourites of mine. With attractive lines and smart grey hulls, they really are some of the best looking cruise ships in service today. Le Boreal was the first-of-class, entering service in 2010. Le Soleal followed two years later. Both ships are 142m long, have a tonnage just below 11,000 and can accommodate 264 passengers and 140 crew. Le Boreal arrived in Bergen early this morning, and was joined by Le Soleal when she came alongside later this afternoon, for a brief evening visit to the city.
