Queen Elizabeth - Under the Bridge

Image
Making one of several calls to Bergen this year, Cunard's  Queen Elizabeth  was in port yesterday. This time I headed up to the Askøy bridge, and watched as she approached and passed underneath. She may not be the prettiest member of the Cunard fleet (an accolade that surely goes to Queen Mary 2 ) but  Queen Elizabeth  is still a very smart and impressive ship. Take a look at my previous post to find out more about Queen Elizabeth , or check out photos of her sister ship Queen Victoria and her fleetmate Queen Mary 2 .

The Cunard Queens turn heads wherever they sail, and  Queen Elizabeth 's call into Bergen today was no different. Entering service in 2010,  Queen Elizabeth is the youngest of the three ships in the Cunard fleet (along with her sister ship Queen Victoria and the wonderful flagship Queen Mary 2 ). She is 294m long, has a tonnage of 90,901, and can accommodate around 2,500 passengers and just under 1,000 crew. Queen Elizabeth  is a slightly modified vista class ship; other ships in this class are spread across Carnival's numerous brands, and include  Queen Victoria , Arcadia  and Zuiderdam . It definitely didn't feel like summer; rain fell all day and greyed out the skies. The following photos were taken as  Queen Elizabeth  departed her berth at Bontelabo this afternoon.

Cunard's youngest ship, Queen Elizabeth, has called into Bergen several times since she entered service in 2010. The photo below was taken during her visit to the city on 27/07/2013. Cunard's Queen Elizabeth alongside in Bergen, Norway Unfortunately this is the only photo I have from this visit. Queen Elizabeth is due into Bergen during August 2015, so I plan to get some better pictures of her then. In the meantime, you can take a look at our recent photos of her sister ship Queen Victoria , and Cunard's flagship Queen Mary 2 .
