Today the rain returned to Bergen, so it was under grey skies that Europa, Ocean Majesty & Costa Mediterranea made their departures this afternoon.

COSTA MEDITERRANEA
Throughout this spring and summer Costa Mediterranea has been a regular visitor to Bergen. Today she docked at Bontelabo terminal. These photos were taken from the Nordnes peninsulsa in Bergen.

Costa Mediterranea is a Spirit-Class cruise ship (the first examples of which were constructed for Carnival Cruise Lines), built in Finland for Costa Cruises in 2000 following the acquisition of the line by Carnival Corporation.

15 minutes ahead of schedule Costa Mediterranea departed to continue on her current cruise, with Amsterdam as her next port of call.
EUROPA
Hapag-Lloyd's MS Europa was built in Finland in 1999, and has been widely acknowledged as the most luxurious cruise ship in the world for over a decade (an accolade recently taken by her new fleetmate Europa 2).

At 198 meters in length and with a tonnage of almost 29,000 she carries just 408 passengers served by a crew of 275.

As she made her departure her sleek white hull stood in sharp contrast to the dull Bergen skies.

Europa made her way smoothly onto her next destination of Ă…lesund, leaving behind Ocean Majesty, which departed later in the evening for Kiel, Germany.
