Statsraad Lehmkuhl

A regular sight in Bergen is Statsraad Lehmkuhl; a beautiful 3-masted tall ship built in 1914. You can read about her interesting and varied history on the ship's website here.

On Sunday she returned to Bergen following a trial of a 'Ski and Sail' trip, which proved a definite success. I will try to feature her again over the summer as she sails in and out of Bergen harbour, and to get onboard for a full interior photo tour.

As she entered the harbour her passengers and crew lined the decks and the masts to sing loud sea shanties, which could be heard from the bathing platform at Nordnes. She passed the cruise ship Viking Star, which was also in port.
